How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I found CO+K when I was searching for new craft websites after I bought my first set of crochet hooks. I found the site and I felt like I was home. There was such an assortment of different crafts, all very budget friendly, unique finds, and great tutorials.

What projects are you currently working on?

Right now I'm working on reupholstering my big beautiful reading chair that I found on craigslist free, staining my coffee table, painting my couch (yes, painting), making a framed magnetic chalkboard for my kitchen, painting rectangles of chalkboard onto my glass canisters, making test tube spice rack, making some throw pillows for my soon to be newly painted couch, updating my mothers bathroom that I left in shambles when I moved out, etc. (new apartment = LOTS OF FUN STUFF!) Time to get started or, rather, finished.

What does your craft space look like?

My craftspace looks sort of like my entire apartment. Perhaps some places outside of it as well. I'm a very cluttered person, and I start a craft and then get inspiration and start a new one to come back to the other one later, so I go from the den (where I'm SUPPOSED to craft) to the dining room table, to the coffee table, to my bedroom floor, to the balcony, back to the den. We just moved into our new apartment so I've only started gathering some furniture for all my boxes and boxes of craft stuff. Also, in my den area we've got two bookshelves to get rid of my BOXES UPON BOXES of books so the closet could be used for my larger craft supplies. One of the bookshelves was missing a piece that is currently being delivered, so that's a mess. Needless to say, I've got my craft supplies sprinkled around anywhere the boxes will fit to get out of the way. (I included a picture of my old craft table that I had when I lived at home. Sadly it doesn't fit in my new apartment, but I really loved it!)

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

I almost always use my ruler! Whether I'm making myself a dress, making some frames, crocheting a throw pillow, or reupholstering my reading chair. I was always taught "measure twice, cut once" so for every cut I make, I've used my ruler at least twice as much.

What do you craft along to?

I love having the TV on in the background, and I used to craft to shows like Family Guy, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Futurama. Now, however, that I have my very own apartment that is like a blank canvas at the moment, I almost always craft with HGTV on in the background. Either that, or any music that I like. I'm very eclectic from my crafting to my music taste, so I can go from Led Zeppelin to Jose James to Tchaikovsky to Florence and the Machine. I feel like that really rounds me out, and rounds out my crafts as well. I get inspiration from so many sources and that really helps to invigorate me and my crafts.

Favorite Craft

My favorites types of craft change almost weekly, but right now I'm really into reupholstering and sewing because I just got a brand new fancy sewing machine for the Holidays, and it's going so well! I love taking a cheap (or free) piece of furniture that's sort of "well-loved" and transforming it into something beautiful and perfectly fitted towards you.

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I would LOVE to do more woodworking. I've been getting some experience with framing builder grade bathroom mirrors (mitering the corners with no miter saw O_O), making legs for a trunk to turn it into a coffee table, and burning wood, but I just need all the supplies. I'm armed with a tape measure, ruler, and a hacksaw. My dream is to have my very own garage in the future that is a complete workshop!

Who are your crafting heroes?

My crafting heroes have to be Cat Morley (cliche? Probably, but she was one of the first crafters I was introduced to when I got into crafting, and her crafts are so varied and look so wonderful, she's really inspired me), Michelle G. because she can just bust out new crafts everyday and they're always so easy and great looking, Clair Obias, MrBalleng, and just so many.
