I'm intrigued - what kind of things could you make for this? I'm not that good with plushies and thats all that springs to mind at the mo.

I've been finding the last couple of weeks really tough. I signed up to the Wardrobe Refashion pledge at the end of June and haven't bought anything new since the beginning of June but its weird, because I know I'm not buying anything new for 6 months I'm really craving buying something. I'm even looking in shops I'd never go in! I think its cos a lot of the times I do buy stuff its for emotional reasons and got very little to do with need. Thankfully though I have stayed strong and not given in - largely the stuff in the shops at the moment is crap and so overpriced so that helps.
One of the great things about this site is that people are so generous with their experience and know how and so encouraging and warm and friendly so Shona please feel free to post away. I felt really daunted at first because there so much good stuff on here but I post things without any worries now as none of the comments have been negative, they've all been really supportive. Its also nice when your new to crafting to have a record of what you've made as you can see yourself improve and thats really good too.
Ah don't feel that you have to keep quiet and like things in secret Its just the really blunt and critical stuff thats not nice. Like people have said, it takes courage to stick your neck out and publish piccies of something you've made and its just about respecting this and keeping things encouraging and positive.
Don't worry I wasn't serious about the separate board - just carrying on the school theme Sugars comment made me cry laughing this morning, I haven't done that in a long time X)
Oh no I hope not. The post here can be incredibly unpredictable so it may still be out there just not where it should be yet.
Maybe there should be a special board called 'playground' where people could put their 'I don't like your project cos I could do it better' type comments If it gets out of hand and there's too much hair pulling we could send it a dinner lady to moderate
Roxy if you check out the thread in the chitchat section on IRC channel it should give instructions of how to join the IRC channel that Rhibi set up so we can all chat online.
I'd agree with this. Although, thankfully, the negative and rude stuff is such a minuscule amount of the commenting which goes on here it does leave a nasty taste in your mouth when you read it. Most people seem to follow the rule that if you don't have anything nice (or at least constructive) don't say anything, but there do seem to be a few new members that don't seem to be following this which is sad.
Miss Dee I got yours today and its wonderful, so many bits and bobs. I'll post some photos later on this evenings but in the meantime thankyou x
Ale I got all your stuff in the post today and I love it all. I had been on annual leave from work so it was a lovely surprise I'll get yours finished and sent off pretty soon. x I'll upload some piccies this evening.

Michelle check out the you tube stuff Creative posted, she starts from the casting on.
One of the great things about this site is its friendliness and generosity and I agree, although I haven't been here that long, there seems to be a whole lot of really new people joining up to moan. It kind of begs the question 'why?????' Life's depressing enough at times without taking the fun out of the enjoyable bits.
I've been watching some of the You Tube stuff you recommended - wow, thats not a crochet hook she's using its a magic wand She makes it look so easy but I'm chuffed to see she starts right from the basics.
