Laptop - End Credits and before that Say Hello Wave Goodbye by Soft Cell
Saw Peter Murphy last Sunday. He was amazing and really liked his support act, Lettie Music. Anyone else heard of them?
If from England. I live in St Albans in Hertfordshire but I'm originally from Norwich in Norfolk. I moved down this way to go to uni in Hatfield and met my boyfriend and we got a place down here as we liked it here
That blokes sounded horrible but you and your friends did the right thing and the fact that you all stuck together was a very wise move. There are some really icky creepy men out there but there are some nice ones too, honest. Its a horrible feeling though when your hit on by the creepy ones but the nice ones will find you too and they'll be the ones who just want to chat and know you. x
Thank you Kiddo x Thats so amazing to hear. I'm really pleased that what I said helped. It something I have to keep reminding myself off.
I thought I'd start this thread as I thought it was a nice positive theme. What put it in my head was that I was out last night watching Peter Murphy perform live. If you have no idea who he is he was the lead singer of a goth band in the 80s called Bauhaus, he has performed and recorded as a solo artist since. They had and still have a massive following, as does he and I have loved them and him for about 20 years. Anyway, what I found inspiring about last night was watching him talk between tracks. The man doesn't stop talking but was very funny and although I always knew he had a stammer in the bands early days I just assumed that he would either have overcome it or not talk between songs. Well he seems to have pretty much overcome it but it was still there but rather than prevent him from talking to the audience he just rabbited on regardless and seemed to manage it with breathing exercises and through slightly singing bits. What I found inspiring was that he just didn't seem to give a monkeys and neither did anyone else. Maybe its an age thing (he said he was 52) but it made me think about all the stressing I do about the tremor I get when I'm anxious/low and how little it actually matters.
I'm a little prone to this too and have a half finished dress myself I find the swaps help keep me focused and get me finishing things. Also I find having a couple of things on the go helps. You can have a break when you get board and do a bit more on something else. Also I sometimes make myself sit down for 30 mins and sew a bit on the dress. I figure if I do this enough it will get finished - every bit helps.
I'll add you. I'm anomia44@hotmail.com
I used a white vinyl offcut to make a bag for Sugar in one of the swaps (Goody Bag swap). Its cool to work with as it holds its shape and you can paint it with acrylics.
I used to Aqua Aerobics regularly and found a good shampoo and spray on conditioner in Boots. Its they're own brand but did a pretty good job at getting the chlorine out and stopping your hair from drying out. I'd try a deep conditioning treatment too if your swimming daily. I do front crawl so always got soaked but several of the ladies in my group did breast stroke and pinned their hair up on top of their head. That way they stayed pretty dry. I think you can get some treatments that you put in your hair before getting into the pool too but you may need to look into that one. You could ask at a good hairdressers. They might be able to advise you about hair dying too.
