Renaissance Dress?
For a renaissance project at school I'm making a dress...
Colors: Black, White, Gold
Does anyone know of a tutorial that might help. Even pictures of dresses could help
Thanks in advance
look up McCalls and simplicity patterns, in the Halloween section.
those are the best ones that can be easily done by beginner seamstresses.
Honestly make it a size bigger than your measurements, try it on, then turn it inside out, do a custom fit by pinching the sides and pinning down the extra. sew over those seams and you've got your dress.
Ren dresses can be peasantry to high class, but more often than not there would be a peasant than a high class dress about, just because the high class ones are so heavy and omg are they full of heat.
oh, is it Elizabethan? Italian? Medieval? Or standard fare garb. I could show you designs based on which one it is, so you know what you're looking for.
I have a project which I made for a costume party. The corset is a renaissance style corset. Here's the link if you wanna take a look: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/pirate-queen-outfit

and then there's the peasant dress, the farmers wife, and generally every woman's dress that was not upper middle class or above.
