What are your hobbies?
I love to read which is great since I work in a library! I'm always taking home piles of novels and comics.
I'm a huge nerd; I love to cosplay and go to conventions. And I adore op-shopping; there's just something about the thrill of the hunt ~___^
As for sports, I love skating, in particular roller derby although I'm still Fresh Meat! I also do fencing - swordfighting though, not construction of! ~___^
What are your favorite crafts and what's your craft space like?
I love a lot of different crafts! Crochet, embroidery, and sewing are probably the ones I do most often, but I really enjoy thinking of something that I'd like and then picking the craft most suited to making that happen. I love having the choice between mediums!
My craft space varies between our spare bedroom (the walls are lined with boxes on shelves packed with supplies and I keep my sewing machine set up in there) and our lounge room where I either craft at my desk or on the couch. But I also love to get out and craft in public! If I'm taking the train anywhere, crochet is often the first thing packed in my handbag!
What do you craft along to?
It depends on what type of craft I'm doing; if I really need to concentrate I like to listen to music, especially SBS PopAsia (this was also my go-to study music!), but if it's an easy craft then I like to watch TV or listen to Welcome to Night Vale. Probably my favourite thing of all though is to craft with friends so we can chat while we create ^____^
What was the first project you ever made?
I made a lot of things as a child, so I don't remember my very first project. I do remember making pencil topper things from pipe-cleaners and pom-poms, clothes for my dolls, weird sculptures from the clay dug up in our backyard, and a whole range of sea-glass and twine necklaces. Not the best choice of materials, in retrospect; that twine was so itchy!
What are your favorite items to make?
I love to craft things that make me smile; this usually means colourful, weird, and/or nerdy things! Jewellery and other accessories are usually my go-to project because they don't take up a lot of room (my house is slowly filling up with crafts!) and I love to wear unusual and fun things.
Which other craft blogs do you love to read?
Oh my glob, so many! My bloglovin' feed is enormous! I really love A Beautiful Mess (let's be honest, who doesn't?), Twinkie Chan, Our Nerd Home, Tanya Today, Scientific Culture, Polka-dots and Sparkles, Lucky Lucille, Vintage Revivals, By Gum By Golly, and Pops de Milk ... and I've probably forgotten so many and for that I am so so sorry!
