When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
I started sewing at very early age, 9 years old. I had the blessing to have my mother sent me to an elementary school with many Home Economics courses, and I could learn hand sewing and cross-stitch. At home, my mom taught me to sew in a sewing machine. Then at 13, I enrolled in a sewing institute, where I studied 2 years seamstress and pattern making.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
Yes, I would never forget! I had many dolls and I wanted to do skirts for them with many ruffles, so this is the first thing I learned.
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
Oh yes, I have many! One of my most favorite pattern designer is April Rhodes, her style is beautiful! Another designer I heart of course is Collette.
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
I will be sending you photographs of my sewing studio
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I was born in 1961, so for me disco music from the 80’s is a perfect way to start a sewing day!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
Yes, I love cross-stitch and knitting also! Designing fabrics for Art Gallery Fabrics and my own line of patterns is a full time job, and it doesn't let me have time for another big passion that I have: cooking.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I hope everybody can enjoy my tutorials! I learn new sewing things everyday and I like to pass them all to the sewers that learn from me. Sewing rocks!
