When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
My parents always cooked, and I loved to cook with my father. I was also in a food coop in college that influenced me a great deal. But really, it's been an evolution that has been snowballing for quite some time.
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
My kitchen is TINY, but I am tremendously tidy. It may be small, but it's good for pivoting.
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
Experiment. Play. Get messy. Don't sweat the flops. Have fun.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
I have tried to answer this question countless times. All I know for sure is I would like it to be 6-8 people and I would INSIST that Orson Welles be in attendance. There would be cheese & charcuterie to start, and there would be soup. It would be simple, yet elegant. There would be copious amounts of wine.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
Photography, film noir, gardening, crosswords.
