When did you first start getting crafty and creative with fashion?
I've always had a quirky sense of style, rarely followed fashioned trends and preferred to shop vintage & second hand but it wasn't until I inherited an ancient sewing machine 4 years ago and taught myself how to use it that I really began refashioning & creating my own groovy clothing from scratch.
Who are your favorite fashionistas and designers?
Whimsical wild child Betsey Johnson and the queen of modernized punk & new wave Dame Vivienne Westwood.
What are your ultimate style tips?
- Don't be a slave to fashion & never let anyone other than yourself dictate what style is appropriate for you.
- Wear what makes YOU feel fabulous each day. Maybe it's jeans, a graphic tee & sneakers one day and sky high platforms, a mod minidress & printed tights the next - if you feel great that's all that counts.
- No matter what outfit you choose make sure you step out with a positive attitude, be confident with your style...and always wear pretty (yet comfortable) undies, trust me, you'll feel fantastic even in the most dowdy, paint splattered sweatpants!
If you could borrow one thing from a celebrities wardrobe, what & who would you choose?
I love pretty much everything Lena Dunham wears.
Which fashion blogs do you love to read?
That Cheap Bitch, Thrift Outfit, Ecouterre
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I'm a wee bit of a DIY Upcycling Diva and am constantly on the lookout for unique thrifty finds to transform into treasures.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
My personal definition of a (Re)fashionista: A DIY eco-fashion upcycling warrior who firmly believes that fabulous, affordable, unique style can be achieved by anyone without supporting the growing phenomenon of cheap, unethically produced “fast fashion”.
