I made this HK for my daughter who will be two tomorrow. I don't really sew many things- I'm more of a jewelry maker so this goes to show how simple it really is to make. I used a HK doll that she already owns to get an idea on proportions. Good luck and I hope this cute doll inspires you too!

Description

I made this HK for my daughter who will be two tomorrow. I don't really sew many things- I'm more of a jewelry maker so this goes to show how simple it really is to make. I used a HK doll that she already owns to get an idea on proportions. Good luck and I hope this cute doll inspires you too!

Instructions

  1. I first traced the head shape on the felt and cut it out. I completely finished the head leaving the bottom portion open for stuffing and attaching body. (The next part will be on the body itself.

  2. I then traced the arms onto felt and cut them out. I sewed them up leaving the tops of the arms open for stuffing and attaching to body. Sit them aside.

  3. After the arms I did the same for the legs leaving the tips open for stuffing. I thought the legs would be difficult because I needed to add the pad to the bottom of the feet but as I began them it came so easily. Cut circles out for the bottom of the feet and you basically are sewing them to what looks to be a tube ( the leg part). You will use a rectangle shape piece of felt to get this shape, starting in a corner longwise, place the circle and begin stitching it together. You will be turning the circle and it will begin to create the tubed leg. You may have too much material left over creating a flap, simply lay the leg down with the foot pad facing you and flatten it out. Take and cut off the extra material to match the opposite side of the pad. That may sound confusing but if you have gotten to this part yet you'll know what I'm talking about.

  4. Lastly, trace your body shape and cut out. Body can be any jape you'd like and still be adorable. Mine was sort of pear shapes with a wide neck. First thing I did was add the little hearts onto the body. then the legs onto the body. Followed by the arms. I then stuffed the body and sewed on the head. Voila!

  5. Annnnd, if you'd like to make clothes do so now! Hope you had fun :) I can't wait to make her something else.
