Description

Here's a way to use a plain clear bowl for your Halloween decor!

Instructions

  1. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202539 materials

    Materials list

  2. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202544 step%2b1

Step 1 Align tissue paper with bottom of bowl. I decided that I wanted this cute little spider to be close to center, so that where I positioned him. Tear tissue paper a little bigger than the area you will be covering.

  3. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202549 step%2b2

Step 2 Mix a bit of white glue with glitter glue and a few drops of water. (glue should still be thick) Apply glue mixture directly to bottom of bowl with a paint brush.

  4. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202558 step%2b3

Step 3 Place tissue paper with care onto the bottom of bowl where you painted the glue mixture. Then carefully paint more of the glue mixture over the top of the tissue paper. (be careful not to press too hard, as you don’t want to tear the paper.)

  5. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202605 step%2b4

Step 4 Dry with heat gun (or allow to air dry fully before going onto next step)

  6. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202610 step%2b5

Step 5 Carefully trim paper from bottom of bowl with an exacto knife.

  7. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202615 step%2b6

Step 6 Repeat steps 1 through 5 with OUTSIDE of bowl.

  8. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202621 step%2b7

Step 7 Dry thoroughly before going onto step 9. (Use heat gun for quicker dry time.)

  9. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202627 step%2b8

Step 8 Once paper is completely dry, trim paper from edge of bowl with exacto knife. (If the tissue paper is still wet, it will pull and tear, rather than leave a clean edge.) You’ll be able to see the pattern through the bowl when you turn the bowl over.

  10. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202634 step%2b9

Step 9 Paint outside of bowl with spray paint and allow to dry FULLY.

  11. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202641 step%2b10

Step 10 Use a black Sharpie marker to color the edge of the bowl, to the edge of where you cut the paper. (This hides the seam between the paper and the bowl.)

  12. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202647 step%2b11

Step 11 If you’d like a bit more sparkle, use glitter glue around the edge of the bowl.

  13. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202656 step%2b12

Step 12 Cut and glue a length of lace around the bottom of the bowl.

  14. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202703 step%2b13

Step 13 Add a length of ribbon on top of the lace. Tie into a bow and secure with glue.

  15. Small 110893 2f2015 09 07 202711 step%2b14

Step 14 Add candy or a candle, and you’re done! NOTE: YOU MUST HAND WASH THIS BOWL FROM NOW ON TO KEEP IT PRETTY.
