Green Apple Bubble Tea

  • Completed Project: Green Apple Bubble Tea Picture #1

Green and refreshing bubble tea!

I first discovered bubble tea on a trip to Canada last year and I've been missing it ever since. So, I took a trip to my local Chinese supermarket and decided to make up my own recipe.

Add to Favorites Add Your Version

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Make a cup of tea just like you normally would, using one tea bag and then leave in the fridge to cool.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Take a plastic, take-out cup and pop the sago balls in. If you can't find sago anywhere (it can be tricky to find) you could substitute them for tapioca balls or even green grass jelly.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Pour in the cooled tea.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Top up with apple juice, mix up and enjoy!

Roma - the jelly bits don't really taste like anything, they just add a jelly texture to it.

Lola - that's okay, I had never heard of them before I tried it. They're basically these little balls like jelly, have a look in a Chinese supermarket, if there's one near you. You could just dice up some normal jelly in to cubes and use that as an alternative.

Bubble teas are the hottest craze here in my country (Philippines), because there are a lot of Chinese travelling around Manila... I love Bubble teas too! ;) It's really awesome. My favorite is Almond Pearl Milk Tea, and Mint Bubble tea:)

This sounds tasty. I'll just have to find somewhere that carries the Sago/Tapioca balls though.
