I had so much love for my postman Monday morning when a black Michael Kors Bedford Gusset hit my mail. This one proved almost impossible to find and literally turned into a quest. I had to hunt Internet’s outer reaches until I finally found it on Ebay and won my bid. Not without an ugly fight. But it got me thinking that it really wasn’t fair. Everyone needs a beauty like this in their life. Sooo, DIY time! :)

I had to hunt Internet’s outer reaches until I finally found it on Ebay and won my bid. Not without an ugly fight. But it got me thinking that it really wasn’t fair. Everyone needs a beauty like this in their life. Sooo, DIY time! :)
The hardest part of this project is probably finding the bags. It might take some dedication and a sprinkle of luck I’ll give you that. It was honestly much easier than I expected though. I found mine at H&M for 9,95$ each which I think is still a pretty good deal compared to the actual designer bag. They’re probably still available so run while it’s still time! STEP 1: Take off the handles if they’re clip-ons. Open the zips and align them on one side. You’ll need to attach both outside bags to the middle one. You can use safety pins to mark the sides you’ll be attaching together.
STEP 2: Rip the inside lining seams on both sides of the middle bag. For the outside ones, only rip the side that’ll be attached to the middle. Again, make sure the zips are open and all lining up with each other.
STEP 3: Staple the layers together making sure the lining stays intact. This step should be pretty easy if you have a decent stapler. I suggest listening to Jack Johnson’s Staple it Together while doing this. Me and myself had quite the blast, dance face-offs, private party and all. Things got wild.
STEP 4: This step is – kind of – optional. Glue a scrap of roughly cut fabric to secure the staples in place. It will insure you don’t hurt yourself looking for your keys and keep to whole thing more secure. You can also flatten the wonky bits with pliers to be extra safe! Leave at least a few hours to dry.
STEP 5: When that’s done, go ahead and stitch the lining closed and your new bag will be pretty inside out.
STEP 6: Remove the extra handles or attaching parts. You’ll only need one anyway and it makes for a more polished look. Clip the handle back if that’s the case aannnnd…
