Have an old pair of jeans that you want to add some character to? This is a simple tutorial on how distress them by adding knee rips to make them current again.

Instructions

  1. Small 110668 2f2015 08 29 125218 diy1

Take an old pair of jeans and mark where you want the rips to be using a fabric pencil or fabric chalk. I wanted mine directly covering my knees so I drew a line above and below my knees.

Cut along your marks from one seam to the other.

Next, take the tweezers and pull each vertical thread, one by one. This part can be kind of tedious, but I always put on a good movie and have a glass of wine and I don't mind it at all!

This is what the rips will look like after pulling out all of the vertical threads. After that, just wash them and dry them then you're done!
