• Step 1

  Cast on one row. The stitch is worked in multiples of 6 so make sure the number of stitches you cast on is divisible by 6. I cast on 30 stitches.

• Step 2

  Row 1. Knit all the way across.

• Step 3

  Row 2. Purl all the way across.

• Step 4

  Row 3. Knit 1, purl 4 - repeat the whole way across the row.

• Step 5

  Row 4. Purl 1, knit 4- repeat the whole way across the row.

• Step 6

  Row 5. Knit 1, purl 4 - repeat the whole way across the row.

• Step 7

  Row 6. Purl 1, knit 4- repeat the whole way across the row.

• Step 8

  Row 7. Knit all the way across.

• Step 9

  Row 8. Purl all the way across.

• Step 10

  Row 9. Purl 2, knit 2- repeat the whole way across the row.

• Step 11

  Row 10. Knit 2, Purl 2- repeat the whole way across the row.

• Step 12

  Row 11. Purl 2, knit 2- repeat the whole way across the row.

• Step 13

  Row 12. Knit 2, Purl 2- repeat the whole way across the row.

• Step 14

  Repeat from step 2 until you're finished.
  Cast off.
  You're done!

i just strated knitting so i need to learn more stitches. Thank for adding to my stitch inventory!!! ps i like the idea for the blanket!! i might try that!!

Thanks so much! I had no clue how to properly basket stich, and most tuts have you scratching your head saying "what?"
