My mother has a bad habit of buying bananas in excess... but by the time we actually *want* them, they're already mushy and super-spotted... So i figured i'd do something about it! I rummaged through our cabinets to find something to make sweets with... this, is the child of my *cough* genius (yeah right XD) and our pantry. d'aww... isn't it cute? lol.

Description

My mother has a bad habit of buying bananas in excess... but by the time we actually *want* them, they're already mushy and super-spotted... So i figured i'd do something about it! I rummaged through our cabinets to find something to make sweets with... this, is the child of my *cough* genius (yeah right XD) and our pantry. d'aww... isn't it cute? lol.

Instructions

  1. Small dscf3086 1267476157

What you'll need: (ignore the junk in the background. i took a break from making purses.. lol) 1x - box of Vanilla Pudding Mix 2x - Bananas 1x - tube of vanilla Wafer cookies. (I used Maria's Gamesa) 2 1/2 cups of Cold milk (not pictured) 4 Tbsp - Butter or Margarine (Not pictured) 1x - Tub Cool Whip

  2. Small dscf3087 1267476439

Take 1/2 of the tube of cookies, and place them in a plastic bag. Crush them into fine crumbs -- this will make the crust. Once completely crushed, mix in 4tbsp melted butter (or margarine, whatever you have...) Mix until moist, and press into the bottom of a pie pan (You don't have to use glass, it's just all i have.) (I would crush yours more than i did mine... but i was a little rushed. the noise of the crushing/pounding was making the dogs bark! lol)

  3. Small dscf3088 1267476625

Slice 1 whole banana into as many slices as you can (but not too thin!)

  4. Small dscf3089 1267476746

Lay the slices on top of the crust so that you can layer it later. (You can do this in whatever pattern you like, I just did mine simple circle)

  5. Small dscf3090 1267476911

Mix your vanilla pudding according to the package directions for "Pudding Pie" For my box, this requires only 2 1/2 cups of milk. (Make sure there are no clumps!) Once mixed, Pour (carefully!) over your layered bananas. (If you do it too quickly, your bananas won't stay in place and will float throughout your pudding mixture)

  6. Small dscf3091 1267477076

Cut another banana the same way you did the last one, and layer it (carefully) on top of the pudding. (As you go, the pudding *should* start to thicken and the bananas shouldn't sink into it.) Again, whatever pattern you like is fine it doesn't matter! lol.

  7. Small dscf3092 1267477278

Spoon your Coolwhip onto the top and gently spread it around over the top (gently, because you could push your bananas out of place!) You could be fancy and use a piping bag for this too, but since nothing lasts too long in my house to look fancy *for*, i just spooned it on. I *did* however, place my last 3 banana slices on top. :-P ============================== Refridgerate until firm, and serve! :-D
