Shady Swappers & Shipping Internationally
I’ve never had a problem before with shipping internationally or swapping in general until recently. Reidergirl and I were supposed to do a candy swap last month I did my part and have never heard back from her. She’s made posts elsewhere on the board but is apparently ignoring my messages.
I don’t want this experience to deter me from future swaps but at the same time I’d like to know in advance what members here have a history of not completing their swaps so as not to waste anymore of my time, money and effort.
Would you swap internationally after one bad experience?
I would be far to paranoid to swap internationally again
I stopped swapping for months after a girl on here FLAKED completely on me last year. It was my first time with a bad swapper, and i was PISSED. Its happening more often on here, so i've stopped swapping again for a while.
But then i came back. lol I'm poor, so swapping is my only option to get new things. I usually never swap internationally, but becuz it cost more, and takes longer, and such.
ReiderGirl's swapped a lot on here successfully, i'm surprised she flaked on you. O.O Since its been a month tho it might be true.
I once swapped with someone who i thought flaked, & i hadnt heard from in 2 1/2 weeks. But it turned out her computer crashed, and she eventually swapped. idk, i hope she mails u back.
oh btw, there used to be a 'Swap flaker' post in the swap board, where everyone posted people who flaked or were bad swappers. But no site-runner people stickied it, so it eventually got lost in posts. It had a few names on it, and it was really nice. I was angry when it suddenly disappeared... the site people should help us out & sticky one for us to add names to.
Pammerz has started a 'Swap Angels' board because there has been a spate of flaking (and from people that have been good swappers to date!)
I really like CO+K and the idea of swapping. It's unfortunate that people flake. At first I thought there was some kind of misunderstanding but it's a little difficult to believe being that other posts were made while my messages have been left unanswered.I think I'll just stick to swapping with people who I know are reliable or if I do end up swapping with new people I'll be sure to take Ashley's advice and not bother with international swaps. I'll have to check out Pammerz board since I haven't seen it yet. Thanks y'all
I've been flaked on for a very big swap. My partner kept contact amazingly well until I told her I sent out. Then she seemed to disappear off the site. I tried messaging her on facebook too but she ignored me. I see her online on the facebook chat almost every say so I'm really upset about that. She had even made me a teaser for the swap!
I have a few swaps going on at the moment as well that I think I may have been flaked on...
I think we understand that life gets in the way sometimes ... but it's no excuse for not messaging!
Hey Suzy! You should definitively head on over to the swap angles board! We can get you paired up with an Angle to help make up for your partner flaking

I've signed up on the angel link you posted. This is a really nice of y'all to do.I'm going to read more about becomming an angel - I may end up being one myself later on. Thanks for sharing the other link as well
I was just thinking of one swapper who I have seen active on her facebook business page and I have messaged her there saying how i haven't heard from her but I didn't get any response. she has since then put more stuff on the fb page but i didn't get a reply. i guess she has just quit
i had one girl i was swapping with who didnt reply for months but the swap items arived after i sent mine, she later messaged me to say she had computor issues. I had trouble sending to italy for my newbie swap it took months to arive there but it did get to my swap partner eventually. I dont know about swapping to italy again as the"express" postage took ages but no one else in australia swaps. The ostage from Canada was really quick though it was here a week or so after i sent mine
I was also flaked on by Reidergirl for the most recent Xmas swap. It was my first swap...I posted a box of what I considered to be lovely goodies a few miles up North (we both live in the UK). But have no idea if they even got to their destination. I did not want to make a big deal of it as I had not taken part before and merely felt foolish...but made some suggestions on the board post about improving swaps...I am not aware of any changes to the system as of yet but will not be taking part in any swaps on here for now as it is quite obviously a bit too risky...
I feel its a shame when one flaker puts someone off swapping
nicpea have you checked out the swap angels thread?
I don't think it matters how many swaps you have or have not completed. People should be responsible and courteous enough to complete their end of a bargain & at the very least they should keep in touch. I think it’s a bit late for someone to complete the Christmas swap for Nicpea but maybe she could opt to receive a different set of items.
Nicpea,Lexi has already offered to step in on behalf of Reidergirl for our swap. I'm sure someone would be willing to help you out too.
