DIY The Party

Moira creates a boho inspired 70's style party for today's #DIYTheParty

I have picked 12 items which I think set out the atmosphere for a boho 70s style party. The lights & candles, comfy and quirky cushions and multicoloured throw all set the style. The food is easy to prepare and eat and the salsa and dip are handy to go with those little snacks one always has at a party; the ice cream desert is both modern and welcome after fairly spicey food and all washed down with the 'elderflower champagne'.

Rachel creates her ideal beach party for today's #DIYTheParty

I live on an Island surrounded by beautiful beaches. What better way to celebrate the seaside than with a beach party?! We've spent many happy evenings down on the beach with a group of friends (and a disposable barbecue - nothing beats cooking and eating outdoors!) soaking up the last of the day's sun and the sound of the sea. I love collecting shells and seaglass when I'm on the beach, so I've chosen some projects using those materials to bring a sense of the seaside into the home, and hair and make-up tutorials that will put you in the beach party mood!

Elizabeth dreams of picnicking with Nessie at Loch Ness for this week's #DIYTheParty

I live about 40 miles from Loch Ness, but oddly, I have yet to have a picnic there! I need to remedy that, so I have put together a little picnic party, complete with tasty treats, a warm blanket, an umbrella for rain or shine and, of course, a Nessie for company. And wouldn't it be nice to stay at the loch into the night to hopefully catch some Northern Lights?

Caz creates her perfect seaside themed party for #DIYTheParty.

In the summertime there is nothing I enjoy more than trips to the Seaside. I would love to hold a Seaside Themed Party so I could enjoy all my seaside favourites anytime of the year.

PixieFey creates a Happy Halloween party for today's #DIYTheParty.

Halloween is one of the dates on the calendar that I most look forward to .. an ideal reason to decorate the home and dress up. Reply

Julie creates the perfect vintage picnic for today's #DIYTheParty

I chose a vintage picnic because the weather is warming up soon, and it is the perfect time to diy things to use all summer (and a vintage picnic is the perfect opportunity to do so.) I included a hairstyle and dress idea to get the party clothes started, and a mason jar decoration idea so the picnic food can be served mason-jar styled.

Susan creates a frozen, turkish delight filled party inspired by Narnia for today's #DIYTheParty

I've chosen a 'Narnia' theme as I've just been re-reading the books and I love the imagery. Narnia will always be The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe for me. That is: snow, Turkish delight, toast for tea and crowns for princes and princesses. I hope the tutorials I've chosen cover a range of ideas and reflect the essence of Narnia.

Jackie puts together her dream wedding for today's #DIYTheParty

I love the beading on the dress and I think it goes well with the Bouquet, earrings, necklace and the bracelet. Of course you'd have to make them all the same colour. If I wasn't married I would try and make this. Even though I'm not good at sewing.

Shane creates a carnival inspired circus party for #DIYTheParty

I love the colors, games, and food you can get at a carnival and the excitement that comes with circuses. I’ve added to the list lighting decorations, table decorations, a photo booth tutorial, sweet treats (some of which are deep fried!), and drinks that make me think of funs times at a carnival. I’ve also included some cute decorations that could double as party favors.

Susie creates her perfect Earth Hour Party for today's #DIYTheParty

Earth Hour is a yearly event in March where people around the world turn off their lights for an hour to show they care about the future of the planet. My Earth Hour party would be all about candlelight, chatting, board games, yummy vegan snacks and recycled decorations. I'd love to include a fun, eco-friendly craft too, like making upcycled planters, to keep the spirit of Earth Hour alive when the party's over.
