When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?

My mom sparked my interest when I was a young child by occasionally having me help her prepare our meals. Lots of golden memories from those days. I think my first real attempt was lasagna and I must say it was pretty darn good even though I was a young teenager at the time!

What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?

My kitchen is certainly not large but the layout is perfect. I have a generous size peninsula where I can prepare food and then later use it to serve my dishes family style. I do my best to keep my pantry organized so that I know exactly where everything is at my fingertips without digging through shelves. Also, I find that if I clean up as I go the whole process is far more enjoyable.

What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?

Don’t be intimidated just because a recipe or dish is new to you. We all had to start somewhere and the more you try and ultimately succeed, the more confidence and enthusiasm you’ll gain.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?

Robin Williams, Anthony Bourdain, Michael Symon just to name a few. A huge Italian feast would be in order with lots of red wine and storytelling!

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

I enjoy working with fresh flowers, crafting with my grandchildren, reading and traveling.

Which cooking blogs do you love to read?

Half Baked Harvest, Live Laugh Rowe, Smitten Kitchen, Food52, Bowl of Delicious

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

So happy to be part of this amazing collection of Cooking Superstars!
