A really good tutorial. For clarification: is the strip mentioned in step 4 is actually attached to the outer sides of the bag to form a gusset?

Just started to cut out my pattern... Not sure how deep to make the bag though? I see the top and the bottom measurements but not the height.

I want to try, but I do not have (sigh) fabric. Plus, for this big of a project, I would use and sewing machine. Again,(sigh) no sewing machine.
